Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This is the privacy policy for Sakdrisi, a mobile app that maps Georgia's cultural heritage and natural sites. Plain-language summary first; details below.
Summary
- We collect the minimum needed to run the app.
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time, which removes everything you've contributed.
Who we are
Contact: hello@sakdrisi.ge.
For the purposes of GDPR and equivalent laws, the operator of Sakdrisi (contactable at the address above) is the data controller.
What we collect, and why
When you use the app anonymously (no sign-in)
- Your approximate location, only when you open the Nearby tab and grant location permission. Used to show sites near you. We don't store this on our servers — it's used inside the query and discarded.
- Your language preference, stored on your device.
When you sign in
- Your email address, used to identify your account.
- A handle and display name you choose.
- An optional bio and avatar if you add them.
When you contribute
- Check-ins: which sites you say you've visited, and when.
- Comments: the text you write, with the site it relates to and when you posted it.
- Photos: the image you upload (with EXIF metadata stripped before upload, so location and device info aren't included), the site it relates to, and when you posted it.
Automatically
- Basic crash and error logs from the app and our backend, used to diagnose problems.
How we use AI
We use Anthropic's Claude API to screen your comments and photos for spam, off-topic content, and inappropriate material before they go public. The comment text or the photo URL is sent to Anthropic for scoring; the result is stored with your comment or photo for moderation review. Anthropic does not retain this data for model training.
Who we share data with
We use the following service providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above.
- Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) — based in the United States and EU.
- Cloudflare Images (image hosting for our site photo library) — based in the United States.
- Anthropic (UGC moderation screening) — based in the United States.
- Mapbox (map tiles) — based in the United States.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
If we are legally required to disclose data — for example by a Georgian court order — we will do so, and notify you unless legally prohibited.
How long we keep it
- Account information: until you delete your account.
- Comments and photos you post: until you delete them or delete your account, with one exception — content removed by moderation may be retained internally for review history (not visible to anyone but us).
- Check-ins: until you delete your account.
- Logs and diagnostics: 30 days, then deleted.
Your rights
You can:
- See what we have about you (email us — see contact below)
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your account, which permanently removes your profile, contributions, and saved data. Available in the You tab → Settings → Delete account.
- Block another user, so their content disappears from your view.
- Withdraw consent for optional permissions (like location) at any time in your device settings.
If you're in the EU, EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you also have the right to object to processing, request data portability, and complain to your local data protection authority. For Georgia, that's the Personal Data Protection Service.
Children
Sakdrisi is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For significant changes we'll also show a notice in the app.
